If you would like to be kept informed of performance dates and concert updates, you can sign up to receive emails from WCCB.
The WCCB welcomes volunteer players from wide variety of musical backgrounds. When positions are open to support a balanced concert band instrumentation, the band accepts new members who are qualified musically to the satisfaction of the Conductor. The Conductor will assign players to the appropriate section; the Section Leader will determine which part a member plays within that section. New members should join within the first two rehearsals of each concert season (fall, winter, summer).
An arrangement with Washtenaw Community College allows WCC students to play with the band for credit through MUS 112 Concert Band with permission of the Conductor. High school band musicians are welcome to join the band for the summer season.
If you are interested in joining the band, please contact us by filling out the form below or send us an email.
To help support the functioning of the band, we ask each member to pay a $20 fee per fall and winter semester. All dues collected go into the band's general fund to purchase new equipment, music, and other essential items. Persons registered for WCC's MUS 112 do not pay dues.
The Washtenaw Community Concert Band rehearses on Tuesdays from 7 to 9 PM (there are no rehearsals in August). Rehearsals are held in the band room at Whitmore Lake High School, and dress rehearsals for fall/winter concerts at WCCB are held on the stage of Towsley Auditorium, Washtenaw Community College.
